Mor Kuzhambu is a tasty side dish. It is a famous dish in south India. Mor kuzhambu can be done in many ways. You can add some vegetable in this mor kuzhambu and make a related variety of mor kuzhambu. You can use okra, Pumpkin, Bootle gourd, snake gourd, and any watery vegetable you like. Else you can make it using small onions.
Here I have done plain mor kuzhambu with onion. You just need fewer ingredients to make this mor kuzhambu. Buttermilk is the main ingredient here. As the name itself, you came to know that. You also need Toor dal, pepper, cumin seeds, coconut, garlic, red chili, green chili, curry leaves, oil, and salt to make mor kuzhambu.

Preparation Time - 10 Minutes
Cooking Time - 10 Minutes
Ingredients:
Buttermilk - 1 glass
Toor Dal - 1 tbsp
Grated Coconut - 2 tbsp
Onion small - 10
Red chili - 1
Pepper - 7 to 8
Cumin seeds - 1/4 tbsp
Garlic - 3 cloves
Oil - 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tbsp
Curry leaves - 1 sprig
Green chili -1
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tbsp
Salt to taste
Directions:
Step 1: Wash and soak Toor dal for about 10 minutes.
Step 2: Add Soaked Toor dal, coconut, cumin seeds, pepper, garlic, red chili and salt in a mixer jar. Grind it to a fine paste.
Step 3: Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Let them crackle.
Step 4: Add peeled onion, Curry leaves and green chili slit. Leave it for 2 minutes.
Step 5: Now add the ground paste, turmeric powder and cook it for 4 to 5 minutes in a medium flame.
Step 6: When the raw aroma goes away add the buttermilk and let it cook for 1 minute. When it comes to boil switch off the flame.
Serve the Mor Kuzhambu with hot rice and enjoy your food time. It will go well with rice only. Try it and let me know the feedback.
