Chicken Soup


Chicken Soup!! Nattukozhi rasam \ Country chicken soup!! This is an excellent rasam,  you can make for your family. It is an excellent way to clear cold. You can make this chicken soup easy and tasty too. Make chicken soup whenever you take chicken for cooking. Just make the rasam in the chicken the take the pieces and make a fry for your choice.

It's very comforting to drink when you are not keeping well and very easy to digest too. Soup made using country chicken is very flavorful. Here I used pepper as the main ingredient.  A detailed explanation of how to do chicken soup is here below with step by step procedure and with clear photos.


Servings - 4
Preparation Time - 10 Minutes
Cooking Time - 20 Minutes

Ingredients:


Country Chicken - 500 gms
Chopped Onion - 1
Curry Leaves - 1 sprig
Sesame oil - 2 tbsp
Tomato - 1
Ginger garlic paste - 3 tbsp
Turmeric Powder - 2 tbsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp
Pepper powder - 4 tbsp
Red chili powder - 2 tbsp
Salt to taste

Directions:


Step 1: Wash the chicken thoroughly with a tbsp of turmeric powder and salt. Because the turmeric and salt will remove the bad smell from the chicken.
Step 2: Heat Oil in a pressure pan and add cumin seeds. Let them crackle.



Step 3: Now add chopped onion, curry leaves, and green chili if you wish. Else, you can avoid green chili. Saute it well for 1 minute.



Step 4: Add ginger garlic paste. Saute well until the raw aroma of the paste goes away.



Step 5: Now add chopped tomato and stir well. Let the tomato to become soft and smooth.



Step 6: Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and 2 tbsp of pepper powder and mix them well.



Step 7: Add washed chicken and mix well with the masalas. Do it for 2 minutes so that, the masala will finely mix with chicken.





Step 8: Add some water, till the chicken top. Add salt. The water should be filled above the chicken piece. Then only the chicken can cook well.



Step 9: Cover the pressure cooker with lid and cook for 7 to 8 whistles. Water will completely absorb the essence from the chicken.




Step 10: Once it cools down, take out the chicken pieces. Keep the rasam (soup) aside. Make the chicken as your wish. 
Step 11: Now heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan. Add chopped curry leaves and 2 tbsp of pepper powder. Stir for half a minute.



Step 12: Add the chicken soup to the pan and let it boil for 5 minutes.





Step 13: Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
