Coriander Upma recipe 


Coriander upma!! Colorful dish!! Easy and Quick!! Coriander upma is a tasty variety of upma. It can be done with simple ingredients. Coriander leaves and Sooji (rava) is the main ingredients to make coriander upma. When you are bored with the making of regular Upma, go with this coriander upma. It will taste good and quick to do.
Roast the rava and grind all the ingredients to make a coriander chutney. Then in a pan make a fry of this chutney and add some water. Next, add the roasted rava and cook for sometime. Simple, your tasty and easy coriander upma will ready to eat.

Servings - 2
Preparation Time - 10 Minutes
Cooking Time - 10 Minutes

Ingredients:


Rava - 1/2 cup
Oil - 2 tbsp
Urad dal - 1/2 tbsp
Chana dal - 1/2 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tbsp
Asafoetida - 1 Pinch
Curry leaves - 2 to 3 sprig
Chopped onions - 1/4 cup
Sugar - 1 tbsp
Chopped coriander - 1/2 Cup
Chopped green chili - 3
Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp
Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste

Directions:

Step 1:  Dry roast the rava in a pan on a medium flame for 3 to 4 minutes or till it turns light brown in color, stirring continuously. Keep aside.


Step 2: Heat the oil in a pan and add the urad dal, chana dal, and mustard seeds.


Step 3: When the seeds crackle, add the asafoetida, curry leaves and onions and saute on a medium flame for 1 minute.


Step 4: In a mixer jar, add coriander leaves, cumin seeds, lemon juice, green chili, a pinch of salt and sugar. Grind well for a fine paste.



Step 5: Add the coriander chutney and cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minute.



Step 6: Add 2 1/2 cups of water, salt and let it boil.


Step 7: Add the roasted rava little by little and stir well continuously without any lumps.


Step 8: Cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes or till the water evaporates, while stirring continuously.


Step 9: Add 1/2 tbsp of sugar and 1 tbsp of coriander leaves, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minute.



Tasty and colorful coriander upma is ready to eat. Make it for your breakfast or dinner and enjoy your food. Coriander upma is alone tastes good. If you wish you can combine it with coconut chutney or curd.
