Mutton Chukka / Mutton Varuval in Tamil / மட்டன் சுக்கா


Mutton Chukka!! Mutton Sukka!! It is the most favorite mutton recipe dishes among many people. This mutton sukka or mutton chukka is prepared with homemade masala which turns the mutton sukka as a tasty and spicy dish. Whenever you do cook just add a special ingredient called love, so definitely the output will be amazing. Interest & love makes you as a cooking expert. To make this Mutton sukka or mutton chukka you just need some handful of ingredients. The basic ingredients are enough to make this tasty Mutton sukka or mutton chukka or mutton varuval. here I did Mutton chukka using the cooker. First thing I did is chukka masala. Chukka masala is a combination of coriander seeds, cumin seeds, pepper, and red chili. 


Combine all these ingredients and grind to nice powder then the chukka masala is ready. With this add mutton, turmeric powder, salt, ginger garlic paste in the cooker and cook it for 5 whistles. The mutton will cook nicely and completely when you cook it for 5 whistles. The added masala will be absorbed by mutton and gives you the super taste. 
And make some fried onions and keep aside, this is for seasoning in the last. The add onion, curry leaves, green chili, ginger garlic paste and saute well. then add cooked mutton, garam masala powder and cook for another 10 to 15 minutes until the water dries off completely. This mutton chukka is the great combination for curd rice, rasam sadham and all kind of variety rice. Once the water dried mix well and switch off the flame. Finally, season it with fried onions and coriander leaves. The tasty and most favorite mutton chukka or mutton sukka or mutton varuval is ready to taste your buds.

Preparation Time - 5 Minutes
Cooking Time - 30 Minutes

Ingredients:

Mutton - 250g
Small Onion - 1 cup(20)
Red chili - 3
Coriander seeds - 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tbsp
Pepper - 1 tbsp
Red chili - 3
Bay leaf - 1
Cinnamon stick - 2
Fennel seeds - 1/2 tbsp
Turmeric Powder - 1 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
Garam masala powder - 1 tbsp
Curry leaves - 1 sprig
Water - 150 ml
Green chili - 2
Oil - 2 tbsp
Onion - 1 
Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste

Procedure:


Step 1: Add red chili, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, and red chili powder in a mixer jar and grind to a smooth powder. This is the chukka masala powder we need.
Step 2: Then clean and wash the mutton and add it to the pressure cooker. With that add blended masala, turmeric powder, salt and 1/2 tbsp of ginger garlic paste and cook for 5 whistles.
Step 3: Once the whistles off let it cool and keep aside.
Step 4: Heat oil in a pan and add sliced onions and fry until it becomes golden brown color.
Take out and transfer to the bowl once it fried well.
Step 5: Heat 2 tbsp of oil in the same pan and add bay leaf, cinnamon stick and fennel seeds. With that add small onions, curry leaves and green chili. Saute well until the onion becomes slightly golden brown in color.
Step 6: Add 1/2 tbsp of ginger garlic paste and saute until the raw aroma goes away.
Step 7: Finally, add cooked mutton and cook until the water dries off completely. Once the water dried off switch off the flame and season it with fried onions and coriander leaves.
The tasty and easy mutton chukka or mutton sukka is ready to eat.

Directions:


Add red chili, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, and pepper. Grind to smooth.


Add mutton, turmeric powder, blended masala, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, and salt




Cook for 5 whistles



Heat a pan and add oil and fry the onions



heat pan add oil


Add bay leaf, cinnamon stick, fennel seeds


Add onion, green chili, curry leaves and saute well


Add ginger garlic paste and saute well



Add cooked mutton, garam masala and cook until the water dries off and switch off the flame





Garnish with fried onion and coriander leaves
