Paruppu Vadai | Dal Vada



ParuppuVadai is a crispy snack, which is a deep-fried one. Paruppu vadai is done with yellow peas \chana dal(i used yellow peas here) and spices. It is a traditional snack variety. Most of the functions will not fulfill without this paruppu vadai.



Servings - 4
Preparation Time - 20 minutes
Cooking Time - 20 minutes

Ingredients:


Chana Dal or Yellow peas- 200 gms
Oil to Fry
Red Chili - 6
Ginger  - 2 small piece
Garlic - 8 cloves
Fennel seeds - 1/2 tbsp
Cinnamon - 1 small piece
Cumin Seeds - 1tbsp
Asafoetida - 1 pinch
Finely Chopped Onion - 1small cup
Curry Leaves - 1 sprig
Green Chili - 3
Coriander Leaves - 1 cup
Salt to taste

Directions:


Step 1: Soak Chana dal / Yellow peas for minimum 4 hours and drain it.



Step 2: Add ginger, garlic, Red chili, Fennel Seeds, Cinnamon, Cummin seeds, asafoetida in a jar and grind well.



Step 3: Add drained chana dal to the mixer and grind well. Make a smooth dough.



Step 4: Add Chopped onion, green chili, coriander leaves, curry leaves, and salt to the ground mixer. Mix it well.




Step 5: Roll up the composition into small ball sized.



Step 6: Heat oil in a pan to fry.




Step 7: Once the oil is ready to fry, take masala ball and make it to the desired shape and put it into the pan. Deep fry until it turns brown and cooked.






Step 8: Turn around to fry both sides.


Step 9:  Take out once its fried. 




Serve hot and have a great snack time.
