Tomato Rasam



Tomato Rasam is a traditional dish of south Indian. Daily Lunch will not be fulfilled without rasam. Rasam helps to easy digestive system. When you feel heavy for your stomach then, take a glass of rasam. You will automatically feel lite. Rasam can be done in many ways. Here I showed how to make tomato rasam step by step.


Servings - 2
Preparation Time - 5 minutes
Cooking Time - 10 Minutes

Ingredients:


Tomato - 2
Oil - 1 tbsp
Garlic crushed - 5 cloves
Pepper powder  - 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp
Asafoetida - 1/4 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tbsp
Curry Leaves - 1 sprig
Chili - 2
Coriander Leaves - 1 sprig
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tbsp
Salt to taste

Directions:

Step 1: Cut the Tomatoes into 4 pieces and boil it in a cup of water.


Step 2: Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, pepper powder, and garlic. Saute well for a minute.


Step 3: Now add curry leaves and chili. Toss well for 30 sec.


Step 4: Add tomato puree and remove the waste from the boiled water.


Step 5: Add turmeric powder and salt. 


Step 6: Let it cook for 3 to 4 minutes. When it is about to boiling switch off the flame.


Step 7: Finally, add asafoetida and coriander leaves. Serve it with rice.
