Kambu/ Pearl Millet Curd rice is a healthy recipe. It is very beneficial for our body. Kambu / pearl millet keeps our body cool. It will be good during the summer season. The preparation for this KAmbu Curd Rice is simple. You can make this Kambu curd rice within a few minutes with simple ingredients. 


You just need fewer ingredients to make this Kambu curd rice like Pearl millet(Kambu), curd, oil, onion, green chili, chana dal, mustard seeds, and salt. If it a whole pearl millet you have to cook for a long time. So it is better to buy a broken pear millet or Kambu. If it is broken pearl millet, it will be easy to cook. You can also pressure cook the millet, but it is easy to cook in a pot. Just boil the water and add the pearl millet and let it cook for 10 to 15 minutes in a low flame. Always keep 2.5 cups of water for 1 cup millet.  Once the millet cooked and water dried, switch off the flame. 


If you go with a pressure cooker, cook it for about 3 to 4 whistles. Cooking Time - 20 Minutes

Ingredients:



Broken Pearl Millet - 1 cup
Curd - 1 cup
Oil - 2 tbsp
Onion - 1
Green chili - 2
Curry Leaves - 1 sprig
Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tbsp
Chana Dal - 1 tbsp
Salt to Taste 
Coriander Leaves for Garnishing

Procedure:


Step 1: Boil water and add the Kambu broken into the water. Before adding the Kambu wash it and add. Keep 2.5 cups of water for 1 cup of Kambu.

Step 2: When the Kambu is cooking stir it often. Switch off the flame once the Kambu is cooked and water is drained completely.

Step 3: Heat oil in a pan and add Mustard seeds, chana dal and let it crack.

Step 4: Then add chopped onion, green chili, and curry leaves. Saute well for a minute and add this to the cooked Kambu. 

Step 5: Add and mix well the sauteed onion with cooked Kambu.

Step 6: Finally, add curd and salt to the Kambu and mix well. 

Step 7: Garnish with Coriander Leaves and serve.
