Here I have Explained How to make Thinai Sambar Saadham recipe with a step by step procedure with a clear photo.

Servings - 4Preparation Time - 10 MinutesCooking Time - 30 Minutes

Ingredients:


Thinai - 1 cup
Toor Dal  - 3/4 cup
Mixed Vegetables - 1 cup
Onion - 1
Garlic -  5 Cloves
Tomato -2
Green Chili - 3
Curry Leaves - 2 sprig
Oil - 4 tbsp
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Mustard Seeds - 1 tbsp
Cumin powder - 1/4 tbsp
Coriander Powder - 1/2 tbsp
Sambar Powder - 3 tbsp
Turmeric Powder - 1 tbsp
Salt to Taste

Procedure:


Step 1: Wash and soak the Thinai Rice and Toor dal in a bowl. 

Step 2: Heat pressure cooker and pour the oil. Add Mustard seeds and let them splutter.

Step 3: Add chopped onion, garlic, green chili, and curry leaves. Saute well until the onion becomes brown.

Step 4: Add Sliced Tomato and saute for a minute.

Step 5: Add all the masala powder (Turmeric, sambar, cumin, and coriander) and salt. Mix well.

Step 6: Add chopped vegetables and mix well. 

Step 7: Add 5 cups of water and then add soaked Foxtail Millet and Toor Dal.

Step 8: Mix well and cover it with a lid. Cook for 4 - 5 whistles. 

Step 9: Let the whistle gets cool down, open it and add ghee and mix gently. Serve with your favorite side dish.
